Prabhu Sivabalan (Director)

Dr. Prabhu Sivabalan is a Professor of Management Accounting in the University of Technology Sydney Business School, with a doctorate in control systems, strategy and financial management (budgeting). He researches how financial numbers and other metrics affect employee behaviors in organisations, and has also published textbook chapters emphasizing the importance of accounting ethics in the conduct of business operations. He has presented his ideas to industry organisations and conferences over the past 20 years, communicating the importance of prudent financial and operational management controls to sustainably manage employee behaviors in organisations.

Lakshmi Durr

Lakshmi Durr has a Bachelor of Arts and Asian Studies and tertiary qualifications in Information Systems and Electronic Business. She has held senior roles as a Director in the Commonwealth Public Service, in the areas of information systems analysis, design and assurance, and as a design leader in the development of agency and whole of government solutions.

She has taught Sathya Sai Education for over 35 years and has wide experience of implementing SSEHV principles in community projects and activities.


Margaret Taplin

Dr. Margaret Taplin has a PhD in Education. Originally a primary school teacher, she has over 30 years’ experience as a lecturer and researcher in teacher education, curriculum and pedagogy. Currently she is an independent education consultant in Australia and Hong Kong. Her main interest is to support mainstream teachers to integrate SSEHV into their existing teaching practices. Since 2003 she has been responsible for a series of projects to introduce and develop SSEHV in primary schools in Mainland China, supported by the ISSE(Hong Kong).

Dr. Taplin has written many articles about SSEHV for mainstream teachers and four books published by the ISSE(Hong Kong): To Teach Not to Punish: A Human Values Approach to Classroom Discipline (with Anita Devi); Silent Sitting: A Resource Manual; Teacher Survival: A Practical Human Values Approach to Professional Fulfilment and Happiness and Education in Human Values Through Mathematics: Mathematics Through Education in Human Values. Currently she is conducting research investigations into the impacts of SSEHV on teachers’ wellbeing, and the factors that influence teachers’ adoption of SSEHV in their teaching.

 


Kugathas Namasivayam

Kugathas Namasivayam is a civil engineer and Senior Director, Justice and Community Safety with the ACT Government. He is also the President of the ACT Chapter of the Engineers Charity Fund Inc., Australia. He has demonstrated leadership in sustainability-focused and human-centric transport planning within the ACT. He holds an SSEHV Diploma from the ISSEA and has co-ordinated and taught SSEHV in the ACT. We welcome Kuga with his experience of integrating values into professional communities.
