Aspirations

Education should be useful to society. It should make citizens follow the path of morality and righteousness and make their lives happy.

- Sathya Sai Baba, 1994

The Institute of Sathya Sai Education Australia [ISSEA] has lofty goals and objectives in order to achieve its vision and mission. To make this world a better place for each one of us and for the ISSEA to be recognised as a key Centre of Excellence in human values education requires commitment and dedication. Much outstanding work has been done, and excellent results achieved, in the period from 1998 to 2014, whilst the ISSEA was directed by Dr Pal Dhall, with the assistance of Dr Tehseen Dhall and many other volunteers.

The ISSEA Board and directors, appointed in 2015, are committed to build on that strong foundation. We want to progress the vision of our founder that education, in particular character based education is the key to nation building. We see that the promotion and advancement of education in human values, Sathya Sai Education in Human Values [SSEHV] in particular, is much needed and therefore an important service to the Australian society.

We also continue to underpin our work with research; we will publish evidence-based papers and nurture links with universities and other research institutes.

Not only will the ISSEA provide EHV training and development to the teachers and staff of the Sathya Sai School in Murwillumbah, but also we are committed to achieve BOSTES accreditation in NSW for our SSEHV modules so we may provide accredited teacher training in EHV across NSW. We also want to work with partner schools to maximize the outreach of our model Sathya Sai School.

In order to achieve our goal to make SSEHV available to teachers around Australia we plan to become a Registered Training Organisation [RTO] and have the ability to provide nationally accredited teacher-training programs.

On our wish list also is the development of a residential Teacher Training Institute to be based at the Sathya Sai Secondary School Campus in Dungay [Murwillumbah], NSW.

Our commitment is to Love All and Serve All and to help people understand the transformational power of the five universal human values inherent in each one of us.

We are committed to develop initiatives that will overcome much human suffering. Many of the painful and often shocking human developments in our society are deeply rooted in misguided life choices and lifestyles that undermine the blossoming of human values and block human happiness.

Chapters of the ISSEA are being formed in the various Australian and ACT capital cities to allow local members of the Institute to come together to study, to plan and to develop appropriate community education initiatives based on SSEHV.

Bringing out and nurturing the human values in children during the formative years will result in caring and responible adults in the future.

Bringing out the human values in parents and other adults is an internal motivator that reinforces good character, morality and ethics, resulting in caring and responsible citizens.

Never doubt that a small group of concerned citizens can change the world. Indeed, it is the only thing that ever has.
